NSW National Parks and Wildlife describes all three species of wombats. Indicates that while the Southern Hairy Nose Wombat was considered extinct in N.S.W. two small populations exist but are likely to become extinct. The Northern Hairy nose wombat is extinct in N.S.W. Wombat Echidna a great site with lots of information and photographs of and about wombats. Includes a discussion on mange and its effects on wombats both wild and in captivity. Wikipedia supplies pictures, descriptions and species classifications. Ozark is a national carers site and has a site that is very easy to access and use. Currently there are two very interesting articles on wombat,one on mange and the other on injuries in wombats. These can be accessed by choosing information-case studies-injured wombat and information-case studies - wombat mange. In addition there is an article on coccidia in kangaroos but the general comments of the carer involved are similar to those who have experienced coccidia in wombats. Wombania is the home of the comic strip characters and a good site for children to visit. Russell's
